Help the Canal: You can have a direct impact.
Every spring on Canal Clean-Up Day, the Friends bring hundreds of volunteers together to remove litter from the towpath and trash from the Canal. This is one way to help restore and improve the Delaware Canal.
You can become a Canal Tender to keep the Canal clean and beautiful. Canal Tenders pick up trash, clear limbs, report problems, and care for their adopted sections year-round.
The Canal Action Team handles larger projects like trimming cattails, clearing banks, and painting fences and bridges. There’s a perfect job for everyone. Get involved by calling (215) 862-2021, emailing friends@fodc.org, or by registering to volunteer below.

Our Mission
The Friends of the Delaware Canal works to protect, preserve, and improve the historic Delaware Canal and its surroundings.
Our primary initiatives are to support The Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources (DCNR) & the Delaware Canal State Park
to maintain a fully watered canal and usable towpath trail from Easton to Bristol.
Our Mission
We embrace this mission in order to sustain a unique link to our heritage, protect beautiful and diverse natural areas, provide
educational and recreational opportunities, and enable the Canal to serve as a community and economic asset.
