Sinkhole on the Delaware Canal Towpath Fixed, Reopening Trail for Visitors in Uhlerstown
The Delaware Canal Towpath in Bucks County has reopened following the repair of a sinkhole that formed near Uhlerstown (Mile Post 39.4) in May, which had closed the path at the Farley Wastegate. The Friends of the Delaware Canal announced that the issue has been resolved, restoring access for walkers, joggers, and cyclists between Tinicum Park and the Homestead. Stretching from Bristol to Easton along the Delaware River, the towpath remains a cherished destination for residents and visitors seeking scenic outdoor recreation and a view of one of Pennsylvania’s most notable waterways.
