A Walk Through History

The Historic Yardley Inn

This year, the Friends will host its 15th annual Faces and Places in Yardley, PA. A tour of historic sites and a towpath stroll will be followed by dinner at the Zagat rated riverside Yardley Inn.

Our tour will include visits to the Old Library by Lake Afton where we will learn about the history of the building , the lake and the Yardley Family. Then we will venture to the Gather Place Museum in the old 1877 AME church and learn about forgotten aspects of Yardley Borough and the important contributions of the congregation to the town and the region.

Along the way, we will learn about the canal locks, aqueducts as well as the origins of many of the buildings like Cramer’s Bakery, once the site of a sawmill then power station along with the site of Leedom’s Lumber and Coal Yard.

Our afternoon will end at the Yardley Inn where we will dine on fine food as we learn about the upcoming reconstruction of this historic structure. Known for its food and excellent service, the Inn will top off our event with style and leave you with a memorable experience.

Tickets are $175.00 for members, $200 for non-members. Patron tickets are $250.00.
