Delaware Canal State Park and Historic Bristol

Join us as we celebrate National Trails Day on the Delaware Canal Towpath
Two locations and ways to enjoy the Canal Towpath on National Trails Day.
1. National Trails Day Bike Ride, loop trail ride in Washington Crossing.
Join us for a 7-mile round trip ride from the southern end of Washington Crossing Park to Scudders Falls Bridge with a return trip on the New Jersey canal trail. Pack a light lunch or grab a slice of pizza and enjoy a picnic in the park.
2. Hike the Historic Towpath in Bristol.
Discover Bristol Borough’s rich canal history as we follow a series of interpretive signs from the Delaware River bank to the scenic Lagoon by the Grundy Mill. On this guided 3- mile walking tour, we’ll find out about the important role the Delaware Canal played in the development of the town as we learn about the Ring, the Basin, Locks 1,2 and 3, two unique bump bridges and more. Our route back to the River will be via Radcliffe Street, the loveliest street in Bristol.
